Sylvain Lengacher's work experience spans over 35 years, beginning with their role as a professional hockey player at HC la Chaux-de-Fonds in 1985. In 1999, they completed post-doctoral studies at the Université de Lausanne. In 2004, they became a research director at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). From 2010 to 2016, they worked as a technology transfer officer at NCCR Synapsy, where they raised researchers' awareness of innovation and advised them on patent filing procedures. Finally, in 2016, they co-founded GliaPharm SA, where they were the co-CEO and was involved in decision-making, management of scientific projects, regulation, fundraising, partnerships, and human resources.
Sylvain Lengacher's education history consists of a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Lausanne (UNIL) obtained in 1993, followed by a Master's degree in Maladies infectieuses from the same university in 1995, and a Doctorate of Sciences from UNIL in 1999. In 2016, they obtained a CAS in Management of Biotech, Medtech and Pharma Ventures from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). Sylvain also holds a certification in Biologiste, Dr ès Sciences from UNIL.
