Elise Racicot

Elise Racicot is an experienced diplomat and trade commissioner currently serving as the Ambassador to the Portuguese Republic at Global Affairs Canada since September 2002. Throughout a distinguished career, Elise has held various roles, including Foreign Service Officer, Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner in Brazil, where management of trade programs focused on diverse sectors was a key responsibility. Notably, Elise launched and managed the CanExport program, facilitating export opportunities for Canadian SMEs. Previous positions also include leadership roles at the Québec government representation in Brazil and significant contributions to clean development initiatives in Central America and the Caribbean. Elise holds a Master's degree in International Public Administration from École nationale d'administration publique and a Bachelor's degree in Communications from the Université du Québec à Montréal.
