Farid Ayoub

Farid Ayoub is an experienced diplomat currently serving as Deputy Director for Gulf states and Political Counsellor at Global Affairs Canada, where responsibilities include managing bilateral relations with Mali and Niger. Previously, Farid held roles such as Chargé d’affaires, representing Canada in Mali and Niger, and Senior Policy Advisor covering relations with the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait. Prior experience includes serving as First Secretary (Political) at the Canadian Embassy to Cuba, where key contributions involved assessing political and security situations in Africa, and a tenure as Senior Policy Analyst at Citizenship and Immigration Canada, leading significant policy documents on migration trends. Farid's early career included positions at the Canadian International Development Agency and various NGOs, backed by an MA in International Institutions and Global Governance from Carleton University and a BA in International Relations from McGill University.
