Mark Allen

Mark Allen serves as the Director General for North America at Global Affairs Canada since July 2023. Prior to this role, Mark held several significant positions within Global Affairs Canada, including Canada's Ambassador to Greece and High Commissioner for Cyprus, as well as Executive Director of Human Rights and Indigenous Affairs Policy from August 2015 to November 2022. Mark's extensive experience also includes serving as the Permanent Representative of Canada to the International Civil Aviation Organization, Director of International Relations at Transport Canada, and various roles within the Canadian diplomatic service. Mark earned a Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations and Affairs from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Western University.
