Sara Nicholls serves as the High Commissioner of Canada to Mozambique and Eswatini, as well as Ambassador to Angola since September 2022. Previous roles include Senior Director of Development and Head of Cooperation at the High Commission of Canada to Ghana, where responsibilities encompassed Canada’s international assistance investments and policy engagement across Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Togo. Sara has also held positions such as Acting High Commissioner in Accra during the COVID-19 crisis, Senior Analyst at the Privy Council Office, and various roles within Global Affairs Canada pertaining to health and development, including Deputy Director for immunization and nutrition programming. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Sociology of Health & Women's Studies from the University of Ottawa and an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology & Health Promotion from Western University.
