Gerardo Jimenez-Sanchez, MD, PhD, serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Genómica Médica, where the focus has been on developing a business plan and launching the first direct-to-consumer DNA testing laboratory. Jimenez-Sanchez is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health and has previously held notable positions, including Executive President at the Global Biotech Consulting Group and Program Director for Genomic Medicine and Bioeconomy at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. As President of Biotechnology for the OECD from 2007 to 2014, Jimenez-Sanchez led a group of biotech experts from 34 member countries. Additional leadership experiences include Director General at the Instituto Nacional de Medicina Genómica and Program Director at the Facultad de Medicina - UNAM. Educational qualifications encompass a Postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Genetics and a PhD in Human Genetics & Molecular Biology from The Johns Hopkins University, complemented by advanced business administration studies.

The Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) is an international, nonprofit alliance formed in 2013 to accelerate the potential of research and medicine to advance human health. Bringing together 500+ leading organizations working in healthcare, research, patient advocacy, life science, and information technology, the GA4GH community is working together to create frameworks and standards to enable the responsible, voluntary, and secure sharing of genomic and health-related data. All of our work builds upon the Framework for Responsible Sharing of Genomic and Health-Related Data.
