Michael Ojo

Michael Ojo currently serves as the Country Director for the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) since October 2017, where leadership focuses on improving nutritional outcomes. Prior to this role, Michael Ojo was the Country Representative for Water Aid Nigeria, overseeing the organization's efforts to provide safe water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions from March 2012 to September 2017. Michael Ojo has extensive experience in environmental policy and management, having held positions such as Head of Transport and Environment at London Councils and Environment Projects Manager at London Borough of Islington. Early career experience includes serving as an Environmental Health Officer/Environment Policy Officer at London Borough of Redbridge. Michael Ojo holds an MBA from the University of Warwick, a DMS from Kingston University, a BSc Hons in Environmental Health from the University of Greenwich, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Ibadan.

Working with partners, GAIN aims at making healthier food choices more affordable, more available, and more desirable. GAIN’s purpose is to improve nutrition outcomes by improving the consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially the most vulnerable.
