Shawn Rimmell

Shawn Rimmell has over 25 years of experience in the Automation, Robotics, and Electrical Engineering industries. Shawn began their career in 1993 as an Electrical Engineering Technician at ESKOM. In 1997, they joined Motor Company of Botswana as a Business System Analyst, Paint Shop Section Manager, and Robotics Engineer. In 2000, they moved to Columbus Stainless as a Systems Control Engineer, where they learned C++ and VC in less than 6 months. In 2001, they joined FANUC America Corporation as a Project Manager and Software Control Engineer. In 2009, they founded GLOBAL Automation Technologies, LLC, where they served as the President and COO. In 2018, they became an investor in early and seed stage startups, offering strategic knowledge and producing competitive new standards.

Shawn Rimmell has an extensive educational background. Shawn is currently enrolled in The Aji Network's LEIP Program, which they began in 2019 and is expected to complete in 2023. Prior to this, they completed The Aji Network's BPC Program in 2019 after starting it in 2017. From 2004 to 2007, they earned a BSC in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. In 1998, they obtained a Diploma in Datametrics from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, where they studied Computer Science from 1994 to 1998. Shawn also earned an NDip in Electrical Engineering: HC from Durban University of Technology from 1990 to 1993. Shawn also holds three certifications: RIA Member from the Robotic Industries Association (obtained in 2019), Authorised FANUC South Africa Systems Integrator from FANUC South Africa (obtained in 2019), and Authorized FANUC Systems Integrator from FANUC America Corporation (obtained in 2017).
