Patricia Seitz

Patricia Seitz is a seasoned architect and educator with extensive experience in both professional practice and academic instruction. As Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Global Design Initiative For Refugee Children since January 2016, Patricia focuses on creating community play and gathering spaces in refugee camps and diasporic communities to foster social cohesion and healing. At Seitz Architects, Inc., established in 1989, Patricia serves as President, emphasizing energy-efficient designs for community-based non-profits and advocating for healthy, sustainable communities. In academia, Patricia has been a Professor of Architecture and Chair of the Architecture department at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design since 1987, where a commitment to human-centered education is evident through the integration of community projects into the curriculum. Patricia's educational background includes a Master of Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Architecture along with a Master of Arts in Asian Studies from Washington University in St. Louis.
