Ahmed Baya

Ahmed BAYA, PhD, serves as the Chairman and CEO of Chemal Holding since January 2015, overseeing a diverse group of companies. In addition to this role, Ahmed BAYA is the President of Chemal FC and the Founder of Startup Mauritania, an incubator established in August 2014. Since September 2019, Ahmed BAYA has held the position of Vice President and Chairman of the Trade & Investment Committee for the United States - Mauritania Business Council. As the Founder and Managing Director of Global Entrepreneurship Network Mauritania since June 2015, Ahmed BAYA has also contributed to academia as a part-time lecturer at SOAS University of London and the University of Southampton. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Finance from SOAS University of London, an MSc in International Banking and Financial Studies from the University of Southampton, an MSc in International Business and Management from Liverpool Business School, and an undergraduate degree in Mathematics/IT from Pierre and Marie Curie University.
