Robin Harris has a diverse work experience in the field of world arts, linguistics, and ethnomusicology. They have served as the Chair at the Center for Excellence in World Arts at Dallas International University since 2015. Prior to that, they worked as the Coordinator for the MA in World Arts at the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics starting in 2012. In 2011, they held the role of Arts Consultant in the International Arts Leadership Team at SIL International and became the President of the Global Ethnodoxology Network. Robin also served as the President of the Evangelical Missiological Society from 2020 to 2022. They have been a Council Member for The Society for Ethnomusicology from 2018 to 2021. Their work experience also includes being an Ethnomusicology Consultant for Heart Sounds International from 2006 to 2010.
Robin Harris has an education history that includes a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Biola University, obtained from 1979 to 1983. They later pursued a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Columbia International University, from 1998 to 2001. In 2004 to 2007, they earned a Master of Arts degree in Ethnomusicology from Bethel University. Lastly, they completed their education with a PhD in Music (Ethnomusicology) at the University of Georgia Athens, spanning from 2008 to 2012.
