Courtney Farthing

Director, International Policy at Global Fishing Watch

Courtney leads Global Fishing Watch’s international affairs work. Through strategic engagement with international fora and policy-making processes, the international affairs function works to advance their goal of increasing transparency of human activity at sea to drive greater ocean governance. Previously, Courtney worked for The Pew Charitable Trusts’ Ending Illegal Fishing Project where she assisted government implementation of policies to tackle illegal fishing and associated human rights issues. Courtney has previously consulted for United Nations environment and development initiatives in Asia and the Pacific. She holds a BSc and MSc in Marine Science, specializing in the sustainable management of commercial fisheries.
