John Hecklinger

John Hecklinger has a diverse work experience spanning over several organizations and roles. John started their career as an Adjunct Professor at Santa Fe Community College in 1994 and then served as a Volunteer for the United States Peace Corps, focusing on University Education. In 1997, they joined CARFAX as the Director of Data Acquisition. In 2005, they transitioned to the GlobalGiving Foundation, where they initially served as the Business Development Director, driving corporate partnerships and network growth. John later became the Chief Program Officer, leading efforts to connect NGOs with resources and better serve their communities. In 2017, they joined the Global Fund for Children as the President and CEO, empowering community-led organizations worldwide to empower children and youth. Additionally, in 2021, they became the Co-Chair of the Alliance for International Youth Development. Throughout their career, John has demonstrated expertise in fixing broken systems, adaptive leadership, and knowledge of the nonprofit sector.

John Hecklinger completed their Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Virginia in 1992. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in English from the University of Florida, which they completed in 1994. In 2015, they obtained a certification in Leadership for the 21st Century from the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education.
