Global Kids
Launched in 1989, Global Kids’ mission is to educate and inspire youth from underserved communities to become successful students, global citizens and community leaders by engaging them in academically rigorous, socially dynamic, content-rich learning experiences, both during the school day and after-school. Global Kids is committed to meeting the needs of marginalized youth in under-resourced schools and neighborhoods of New York City. Through leadership development, academic enrichment and digital learning programs, Global Kids uses interactive, experiential methods to educate youth about critical international and public policy issues, and inspire them to take action. In 2016-2017, Global Kids reached over 10,000 youth and educators through face-to-face programs. Despite multiple barriers to success, 99% of Global Kids high school seniors graduated high school, and 93% went on to college, many receiving financial support and scholarships because of experiences gained through Global Kids.
