Dr Tanmay Sarkar

Dr Tanmay Sarkar has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Dr Tanmay currently holds the position of Global MWS Business Line Lead at Global Maritime since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at GL Noble Denton from 2011 to 2022, where they served as the Head of Section Marine Warranty and Technical Authority for Submarine Pipeline Installation. In 2011, they briefly worked as an Independent Consultant at Saipem UK Ltd. From 2007 to 2011, they held the role of Principal/Lead Engineer at Subsea 7. Dr Tanmay started their career at CTC Marine Projects Ltd as a Lead Structural Engineer from 2005 to 2006, and earlier worked as a Surveyor at Indian Register of Shipping from 1996 to 1998.

Dr Tanmay Sarkar received their BTech in Naval Architecture from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1985. Dr Tanmay went on to obtain a Ph.D in Marine Technology from the University of Strathclyde, which they completed in 1995.
