Matthew Ashton has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Matthew started their career as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Austin Health in 2001. Later, they worked at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, where they gained experience in coordinating and delivering Nuclear Medicine protocols and assisting in clinical research studies.

In 2002, Matthew joined I-MED Radiology Network as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, where they implemented cost-saving measures and supervised RMIT students at Peninsula Private Hospital. Matthew continued in this role until 2004.

Matthew then joined Trades Downunder Pty Ltd in 2011 as a Business Development Manager & IT Consultant. In this role, they oversaw the creation of online services, mobile applications, and software for companies throughout Australia and coordinated the activities of business, marketing, and IT departments.

In 2013, Matthew worked as a Medical Representative at Servier, before joining Global Medical Solutions (GMS) in 2014. At GMS, they initially served as the Regional Sales Manager (VIC/SA/TAS) before becoming the National Sales Manager in September 2017.

Throughout their career, Matthew has demonstrated expertise in various areas, including sales management, business development, IT consultancy, and nuclear medicine technology.

Matthew Ashton completed their Victorian Certificate of Education from Benalla College from 1992 to 1997. Matthew then pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Medical Radiations Science - Nuclear Medicine from RMIT University, which they completed from 1998 to 2001.
