Derek Dressler has a strong background in business development and content acquisition within the entertainment industry. Derek is currently the SVP of Business Development at Global Music Rights, where they oversee licensing for digital and TV/OTT platforms. Prior to this, Derek worked as a Consultant and Head of Content Acquisition and Partnerships at RED Hydrogen, where they were responsible for content strategy and commercial partnerships. Derek also served as the VP of Content Acquisition and Business Development at Vimeo, where they led partnerships and negotiated licensing terms for film and series content. Derek's experience also includes a role as the VP of Content Acquisition & A&R at Shout! Factory, where they acquired and licensed content across multiple platforms, and as a Business Affairs and Production Coordinator at HBO. Derek began their career as a Development Assistant at Phoenix Pictures.
Derek Dressler attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1992 to 1995. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications.
