Meaghan Barry

Mission Data Archivist at Global Science & Technology, Inc

Meaghan Barry has a diverse background in archiving and preserving historical records and artifacts. Meaghan currently works as a Mission Data Archivist at Global Science & Technology, Inc, where they manage and catalogues digital information from NASA and NASA-NOAA satellite missions. Prior to this, they served as an Archivist at CVPath Institute, Inc., where they developed systems for record-keeping and improved the archive.

Meaghan also gained experience as an Archivist Intern at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, where they surveyed and processed herpetology department records. Meaghan was also a Special Collections Student Assistant at the University of Pittsburgh, Hillman Library, where they aided the special collections staff and entered descriptive information into archiving tools. Additionally, they worked as a Student Worker at The Ohio State University Archives and Book Depository, assisting with reference and data entry tasks.

During their early career, Meaghan served as a Government Relations Intern at the Ohio History Connection and an Environmental Health Intern at the Marion County Health Department. Meaghan also worked as a Summer Student Intern at the Marion County Historical Society, where they assisted with cataloging artifacts and organizing photographs.

Meaghan Barry's education history begins in 2009 when they enrolled at The Ohio State University. Meaghan pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History and completed their degree in 2013. In the same year, they attended Richmond, The American International University in London for a brief period, focusing on Art History, Criticism, and Conservation. Continuing their educational journey, Meaghan joined the University of Pittsburgh in 2013 and obtained a Master of Library & Information Science (M.L.I.S.) degree in Archives and Information Science in 2014.
