Wendy Lai has a diverse work experience in the exhibition and convention industry. Wendy started their career in 1995 at The Adsale Group, where they served as a Project Manager. In this role, they oversaw various trade shows in China and Hong Kong, managing tasks such as show development strategies, exhibitor and visitor recruitment, and operations.

In 2004, Lai joined Global Sources as the Vice President of Global Sources Exhibitions. Wendy was responsible for managing all international sourcing shows in Hong Kong, organizing four shows every April and October. Global Sources is a prominent business-to-business media company facilitating trade with Greater China.

Lai's passion for the exhibition industry led their to become an active member of professional associations. In 2016, they joined the Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association (HKECIA) as the Executive Vice President. HKECIA aims to represent the interests of members in the exhibition and convention industries in Hong Kong and promote the city as a major international exhibition and convention capital.

Additionally, Lai is a board member and Secretary General of the Asian Federation of Exhibition & Convention Association (AFECA). These roles contribute to their goal of raising professionalism and operational standards in the industry.

Wendy Lai holds an Hon Degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the School of Communication, Hong Kong Baptist University. Wendy also completed a Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
