Managing Director, Singapore at Global Switch

Chng Hak Kiat (HK) joined Global Switch as the Managing Director of Singapore in 2020.

HK has over 25 years’ experience leading operations for data centre and IT technology delivery, transition management, project management, technical support and service delivery management for a diverse range of industries and for government entities. Before joining Global Switch, he was Chief Operating Officer for an Asia-Pacific data centre provider, where he focused on expansion and business development in the region. Prior to this he was at one of the leading Singapore data centre providers, where he oversaw the engineering solutions, project management and technical operations for the Asia-Pacific and European regions. He was heavily involved with account management for global clients and supported the company’s successful IPO in 2014. He has also worked for several other companies including IBM, Astrata Group and Citibank across China, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. HK is a Singaporean national with university qualifications gained in Australia and Japan.

HK is responsible for managing both of Global Switch’s data centres in Singapore. Global Switch Tai Seng is one of Asia-Pacific’s best-connected buildings and the only data centre in the region with direct access to multiple major international sub-sea cable systems.

Global Switch's second data centre, Singapore Woodlands is located to the north of the island. The 25,000 sq m data centre provides multiple connectivity options to Tai Seng’s dense ecosystem, is LEED Gold certified and has an independently verified PUE of 1.34.
