Alexis Nelson

Alexis Nelson, MBA, MSF, serves as an Analyst at both the Global Technology Transfer Group and Ideaship since September 2024. As the Founder, Advisor, and Investment Committee Member at the Portland State Impact Ventures Fund, Alexis oversees investment approvals, budget reviews, document approvals, and mentorship for students while engaging with the external community and supporting fundraising efforts. Notably, Alexis founded the Pacific Northwest's first student-led impact investment fund, securing the Dean’s Graduate Research Grant to drive this initiative. In addition, Alexis holds board positions and advisory roles at The Climate Trust and NOAA, and has lectured at Portland State University on impact investing. Previous experience includes roles such as Head of Finance at Gybe and Venture Partner at Oregon Venture Fund, underscoring expertise in finance, investment strategies, and environmental sustainability. Educationally, Alexis possesses degrees from Mills College and Portland State University, complemented by participation in the Women and Leadership Summer Program at Brown University.
