Ethan Zuckerman

Ethan Zuckerman serves as an Associate Professor of Public Policy, Information, and Communication at the University of Massachusetts Amherst since June 2020, and is a co-founder of Global Voices Online, actively contributing since 2004. Previously, Zuckerman was the Director of the Center for Civic Media at MIT Media Lab from June 2012 to June 2020 and worked as a Research Fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University from September 2003 to June 2012. Zuckerman held the role of Director of Geekcorps from 2001 to 2003 and co-founded Geekcorps in 1999. Earlier career experience includes serving as the VP of R&D at Lycos, Inc. and VP of Research and Development at Tripod. Zuckerman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Williams College and participated in a Fulbright Scholarship in Musicology and Ethnomusicology at the University of Ghana.
