Emily Wood is currently the Manager of International Operations at Global Volunteers, where Emily oversees various international projects. Prior to this role, Emily worked as a Research Assistant at Texas A&M University and held internships at Inter-American Foundation, Upstate International, and Wine To Water. Emily holds a Master of Arts degree in International Development and Economic Policy from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science- International and Comparative Politics from Appalachian State University.

Global Volunteers
Global Volunteers is a private, non-profit, non-sectarian, non-governmental organization engaging short-term volunteers on micro-economic and human development programs in close partnership with local people worldwide. Working at the invitation and under the direction of local leaders, volunteers help create a foundation for world peace through mutual international understanding. Since 1984, Global Volunteers has engaged over 35,000 volunteers around the world on a variety of projects, including teaching, childcare, medical, community development, and construction and renovation. Volunteers can choose to volunteer from one to three weeks in the following locations: China, the Cook Islands, Cuba, Ecuador, Greece, Italy, Nepal, Peru, Poland, Portugal, St. Lucia, Tanzania, USA, and Vietnam.
