Shafi Syed

Shafi Syed currently serves as the Senior Director and Head of Design Engineering for RF/Analog/Power & Photonics at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, overseeing a global team that focuses on the development of reference designs for various process technologies, including FDSOI and FinFET. Prior to this role, Shafi worked as an RF CMOS PA Design Engineer at Qualcomm, where contributions included the design and optimization of multiband CMOS power amplifiers. Shafi's extensive experience also includes a significant tenure at Motorola Solutions, where roles ranged from Senior Principal Engineer to Staff IC Designer, leading architectural design for critical communication systems. Shafi holds multiple degrees from the University of Florida, including an MBA with a focus on Business Strategy and Finance, as well as a Master's in Electrical Engineering, alongside a Bachelor's in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Osmania University.
