Michael D. Harris

As Chief Innovation Officer, Michael D. Harris is GlobalMed’s principal design lead and product theorist.

With over 25 years of patented product design and development and several thriving companies under his belt, Harris is dedicated to the craft of innovative product design and philosophies such as the User Interface Theory. As the internet was cutting its teeth in the early 90s, Mr. Harris was designing websites and developing h.324/323 video conferencing and desktop sharing GUI. At GlobalMed, Mr. Harris is responsible for software application GUI and medical device design. Harris was also a founder and president of several technology companies that include: iREZ Research Corp., which was the first company to introduce a mobile video camera to the Macintosh Laptop; Harris Laboratories, Inc., a fabricator of solid-state memory devices and processor accelerators, and VideoLabs, Inc.,(NASDAQ: VLAB) as the Director of Digital Technologies and Director of Marketing. VideoLabs developed one of the first generations of professional desktop video collaboration and video conferencing applications.

Michael completed the Electronic Engineering program at North Central Technical Institute and went on to study Music and Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin and Computer Sciences at the University of Minnesota. He completed post-graduate work while attending Katholieke Hogeschool Brugge-Oostende in Belgium, in Industrial Engineering Sciences.
