Andy Welton has a diverse range of work experience in engineering roles. Their most recent position was as a Senior Director of Software Engineering at Globalstar. In this role, they led a team of 11 engineers and spearheaded a product software and manufacturing test redesign. Andy also developed new engineering KPIs and implemented a new manufacturing operations and maintenance management strategy. Prior to this, Andy held the position of Director of Software Engineering at Globalstar, where they managed a team of 8 developers and oversaw the design of next-gen IoT Roadmap module architecture. Andy also created embedded software architecture and designed a novel iOS/Android Mobile Application. Before joining Globalstar, Andy worked as a Manager, Product Support and Test Engineering, where they focused on engineering field support and product testing. Additionally, they have experience as a Product Test Engineer at Globalstar, where they were responsible for defining and executing detailed design verification tests. Prior to their roles at Globalstar, Andy worked as a Research Engineer at Lockheed Martin, where they focused on space radiation analysis and managing the radiation shielding and mass configuration analysis of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle. Andy also had internships at NASA, where they worked on automating input file geometry generation for particle transport code and implementing the predictive solar particle event model.

Andy Welton attended Father Ryan High School from 2001 to 2005, where they completed their high school education. After that, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Astrophysics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, from 2005 to 2010.
