Ian Potgieter

Ian Potgieter is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the energy and engineering sectors. Currently serving as a Business Development Manager at Globeleq since February 2016, Ian focuses on gas-to-power opportunities in South Africa and Mozambique. Prior to this role, Ian worked as a Consultant Project Manager at Hatch Africa, engaging with energy projects, and also held the position of Owner/Director at SECURIT SA, where responsibilities included market direction and financial management. Ian's experience further includes engineering business development at Tricom Structures and leadership as the Section Manager at PBMR, overseeing design engineering and international contracts. Ian began a career in design and integration at IST Nuclear, contributing to critical systems for nuclear plants. Ian holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and an HonsBEng specializing in Mechanical, Structural Inputs, and Finite Element Methods from the University of Pretoria.
