Matthew Yi is a dedicated undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, Health, and Society at Cornell University, expected to graduate in 2026. Currently, Matthew serves as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Schaffer-Nishimura Laboratory at the Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering and previously worked with the Mehta Research Group at the College of Human Ecology. Matthew holds the position of Director of Campaigns for GlobeMed at Cornell and has experience as a Teaching Assistant for the BIOMG 3300 Principles of Biochemistry course. Previous roles include working as a Lifeguard at Sammamish Family YMCA, a Summer Camp Counselor at PRO Club, and a Peer Career Coach at Cornell University. Upcoming research work is planned at the University of California, San Francisco's Rong Wang Lab in the department of surgery during summer 2025.
