Rich Downey is an experienced Residential Sales Specialist currently working at Gloster Furniture since August 2020, with a strong background in luxury furniture sales. Previously, Rich held similar roles at JANUS et Cie and LIAIGRE, Inc. (USA), where responsibilities included managing domestic and international sales within the architecture and design community as well as the high-end retail sector. Rich's tenure at LIAIGRE featured top sales achievements of the brand's products and unique art pieces in the New York showroom. Additional experience includes showroom management and product development at Chista, Inc., and retail management at Moss Gallery, fostering client relationships and driving repeat business. Rich's earlier career involved graphic design roles that contributed to various branding and marketing projects. Rich holds a BFA in Visual Communications from Kendall College of Art and Design and a BA in Graphic Design/Interior Design from Ferris State University.

Gloster's roots can be traced all the way back to West Africa in 1960, where a band of passionate entrepreneurs and furniture makers took the first steps on a long journey. By the early 1970’s, increased demand and access to plantation grown teak led us to move our factory to Indonesia. Today, the same passion, conviction and pride that launched the Gloster brand, continues to fuel our business. We may live in a different world than the one occupied by our founders, but one thing remains the same - we are furniture makers whose sole focus is to design and build the world’s finest outdoor furniture.
