Heidi Muller has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Heidi currently serves as the Head of Site and Patient Engagement at Galapagos, where they lead a team in implementing strategies for long-term engagement in clinical trials and drug development. Prior to this, they worked at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson as the Director of Patient Engagement Strategy and as the Functional Manager of Global Clinical Operations. Heidi also held the position of Director of Global Clinical Operations/Clinical Program Leader at Janssen Research & Development. Before joining Janssen, Muller worked at Tibotec as a Clinical Trial Leader Manager and as a Clinical Trial Start-up and Recruitment Expert, where they provided coaching and designed new processes for clinical operations. Heidi began their career as a Nurse, working at Sint Camillus Hospital and Sint Erasmus Hospital. Muller's experience also includes roles at Innovex, Quintiles, and BASF - Knoll.
Heidi Muller has a master's degree in Healthcare Management from the Free University Brussels (V.U.B.), which they obtained between the years 1987 and 1992. Prior to that, they obtained a bachelor's degree in Hospital nursing from Sint Berlindis Nursing School between 1982 and 1985. In 1985-1986, Heidi earned a certification in Intensive Care Nursing from N.V.K.V.V. Meanwhile, they completed their high school education in the scientific branch at Sint Ludgardis between 1976 and 1982. In 2016, Heidi received a certification in Good Participatory Practice (GPP) from AVAC Global Advocacy for HIV Prevention.
