Jan van Gelder

Jan Van Gelder serves as the Head of Development at Galapagos since October 2023, overseeing the planning and execution of all development projects while managing the R&D project portfolio to ensure alignment with business objectives. Prior experience includes key leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson from July 2010 to October 2023, where Jan Van Gelder directed value chain management and clinical supply chains, and held positions in CMC portfolio management. Previously, Jan Van Gelder contributed to Eli Lilly and Company from October 2001 to July 2010, focusing on project management and pharmaceutical sciences. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from KU Leuven and degrees from Université catholique de Louvain and Université de Namur.
