Thomas Bedert

Thomas Bedert currently serves as Senior Legal Counsel and Senior Director for Research & Development at Galapagos since May 2023. Prior to this role, Thomas held the position of Legal Director for R&D Procurement EMEA at Johnson & Johnson from October 2018 to April 2023. Thomas's experience includes working as an Associate in the Life Sciences & Technology department at Quinz, a Senior Associate in the Intellectual Property department at Stibbe CVBA, and an Associate in the Intellectual Property department at Linklaters LLP. Thomas holds a Master of Law from KU Leuven, and has pursued additional education in Biotechnology, the Stibbe’s MBA Highlights Program at INSEAD, an LL.M. in Law, Science & Technology from Stanford Law School, a Master in Intellectual Property Law from Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel, a Master in Human Rights and Democratisation, and a Bachelor of Law from Université de Namur.
