Shweta M.

Shweta M. is an accomplished researcher and educator with extensive experience in social justice and equity research. Currently serving as the Director of Research and Best Practices at GLSEN since February 2023, Shweta previously held the position of Research Director at Race Forward, where responsibilities included conceptualizing and managing research projects, as well as presenting findings. At the Coalition of Communities of Color, Shweta was the founder of the Research Justice Center, promoting equitable outcomes for communities of color. Early career roles include Assistant Professor at Northern Illinois University, where Shweta developed a research agenda on refugee flows, and various research and mentoring positions at institutions such as the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Northwestern University. Shweta's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Political Science and Government from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master's from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
