Christopher Gulka

Senior Analytical Scientist at Glympse Bio

Christopher Gulka is currently a Senior Analytical Scientist at Glympse Bio. Christopher previously worked at Sofregen Medical from 2015 to 2021, where they held the roles of Director of Research & Development and Scientist I. From 2009 to 2015, Gulka was a Postdoctoral Scholar and Researcher at Vanderbilt University, where they were responsible for enhancing malarial rapid diagnostic tests by capturing the Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) pan malarial biomarker with a histidine-tagged antibody appended to magnetic beads. During their PhD Candidate role at Vanderbilt University, Gulka developed novel nano/micromaterials to apply towards antibody-free, low-resource malarial diagnostic platforms specific for the Plasmodium falciparum Histidine-Rich Protein-II (HRP-II) biomarker. Prior to their time at Vanderbilt University, Gulka was an Undergraduate Research Fellow at the University of Richmond from 2008 to 2009.

Christopher Gulka received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry from the University of Richmond in 2009. Christopher then went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Vanderbilt University, which they completed in 2014.
