Joshua Yang

Co-Founder and CEO at Glyphic Biotechnologies

Joshua Yang has extensive experience in the life sciences and venture capital industries. In 2021, they became Co-Founder and CEO of Glyphic Biotechnologies, a company that is decoding the human proteome through full coverage, de novo protein sequencing at single molecule resolutions. Prior to this, they were Co-Founder of Nephrosant, Inc., a company that developed the QSant Assay and Score, which provides a quantitative measure of kidney injury. Joshua also became an Investor for The 21 Fund, a $2M seed fund building and investing in the next generation of Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) startups. Additionally, they became a Life Sciences Fellow for Bain Capital and a Venture Capital Fellow for both SeaX Ventures and Pear VC. In 2019, they were a Venture Capital Fellow for InSITE, a leadership development program in the startup and VC space. From 2017 to 2021, they were a Graduate Student Researcher in the Johns Hopkins Biomedical Engineering - Taekjip Ha Lab. From 2015 to 2017, they were a Graduate Student Researcher in the Department of Surgery at the UCSF School of Medicine - Sarwal Lab, advised by Dr. Minnie Sarwal, M.D.

Joshua Yang has a diverse educational background. Joshua obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Bioengineering: Biotechnology and General Biology from UC San Diego. Joshua then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Translational Medicine from both the University of California, San Francisco and the University of California, Berkeley. Following this, they obtained a Doctor of Medicine - MD from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Joshua then obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins Biomedical Engineering. Lastly, they obtained a Master's Degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. In addition, Joshua Yang also holds two certifications, a Certificate in Intercultural Leadership from the Robertson Center for Intercultural Leadership (CIL) obtained in 2015, and a Verified Peer Reviewer from Publons.
