MD SURESH KUMAR has a diverse work experience in the mining industry. MD SURESH started their career at Anna University Chennai, where they obtained a BE degree in Mining Engineering. MD SURESH then joined The Singareni Collieries Company Ltd, where they held various roles including Mine Manager/Safety Officer, Longwall Project Manager, and Assistant Manager, LW Mining. During this time, they achieved high production levels and implemented high work standards. MD SURESH later joined Thiess as a Deputy General Manager, where they successfully commissioned and initiated excavation for the Pakri-barwadih opencast coal mine project. MD SURESH also worked at GMMCO Ltd in roles such as General Manager and Senior General Manager, where they were responsible for technical services, project management, and the execution of operation and maintenance contracts. Currently, they are working as an Associate Vice President at GMMCO Ltd, with responsibilities including being the Business Head for underground mining and the execution of Operation and Maintenance contracts for longwall and continuous miners. MD SURESH KUMAR has a diverse education history. MD SURESH graduated from Anna University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mining and Mineral Engineering. In 2000, they obtained the First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency from the Directorate General of Mines Safety. Additionally, in 2002, they completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Programming from Tata InfoTech. In 2011, they obtained a PG Diploma in Exploration & Geology from Annamalai University. MD SURESH then pursued further education at the Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli, where they completed a Post Graduation in Business Management in 2016 and studied Finance in 2014.
