Benny Yau

Benny Yau has a strong background in the finance industry, with extensive experience in credit trading and distressed investments. Benny began their career at Goldman Sachs, where they worked as an Analyst in the Principal Finance Group. Benny then moved on to Credit Suisse, where they played a crucial role in building the CDS business from scratch and gained experience trading various sectors. After that, they joined Barclays Investment Bank as a High Yield Credit Trader, specializing in cash and CDS trading. Following their tenure at Barclays, Benny worked at Third Avenue Management as the Head Credit Trader, overseeing trading in bonds, bank debt, CDS, and reorg equity. Benny then joined Aurelius Capital Management as a Senior Distressed Credit Trader, trading CDS, cash, structured credit, and equities. Currently, they are employed at GMO as the Head Trader Credit, responsible for managing the Credit Opportunities Fund and improving the portfolio's quality through strategic trades.

Benny Yau earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 1991 and 1995. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 1998 to 2000.
