John D Lee has an extensive work experience spanning several industries. John D is currently serving as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at GMS Health & Travel Insurance since December 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Lee Strategies and Coaching as a Strategic Executive, Coach, and Project leader.
From 2013 to 2022, John held the position of President and CEO at Economic Development Regina Inc., where they successfully transformed the organization into a best-in-class hub, securing significant investments and developing a 10-year economic growth plan for the city.
Before that, they served as the President and CEO of Communities of Tomorrow from 2006 to 2013, where they led the emergence of North America's first infrastructure innovation hub.
John's earlier career includes being the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer at Regina 2005 Canada Summer Games, the largest multi-sport event held in Regina. John D also served as the Executive Director of the Sport Division at Sask Sport Inc. from 1987 to 2002.
John D Lee has an Honors Bachelor of Commerce degree from Laurentian University/Université Laurentienne. John D also completed the Ivey Executive Leadership Program at The University of Western Ontario in 2012.
