Jatin Hazarika

Mr. Jatin Hazarika retired from the Indian Administrative Service on May 31, 1987, from the post of the Chairman, Assam Board of Revenue.

During his service career, he had the unique privilege of working as the secretary to six Chief Ministers of Assam belonging to different political parties. Besides undertaking responsible roles such as Deputy Commissioner & Project Administrator, IADP, Cachar; Managing Director State Marketing Federation, Agro Industries Corporation; Regional Manager, Food Corporation of India, etc.

Mr. Hazarika has headed important departments of the Government of Assam like Home, Political, Personnel, Administrative Reforms, General Administration, Parliamentary Affairs, Information & Public Relations, Industry, Power, Food & Civil Supplies, Transport, Tourism, Handloom & Textiles, etc. Mr. Hazarika has also been honored by the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi in 2009 for his distinguished services to the cause of Public Administration in the country. He is a recipient of “PAUL H APPLEBY AWARD” in Public Administration. He regularly contributes perspective-led articles to newspapers and journals on themes of topical interest.
