Greta Attard

Greta Attard has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Greta started their career as a Secretary at Adverteyes Ltd from 2012 to 2014. Greta then worked as an IT Intern at MITA (Malta Information Technology Agency) from 2015 to 2017, gaining knowledge about networks and computer hardware/software. Greta also had a work placement at Ascent Software in 2017, where they gained hands-on experience in Computational Linguistics tools.

In 2016, Greta joined Stagecoach Performing Arts as a Vocal Coach and worked there until 2019. Greta then took on a role as an English Drama Teacher at GEST: Gothenburg English Studio Theatre from 2017 to 2018. Additionally, Greta worked as a Project Officer at Malta Digital Innovation Authority from 2018 to 2021, where they were involved in various projects related to AI implementation and project management.

At the University of Malta, Greta held multiple positions as a Research Assistant. Greta worked on tasks such as compiling a corpus from newspaper articles to support research on xenophobia, annotating videos to analyze gestures and accents, and extracting text and comments for research purposes.

Greta also gained experience in the field of NLP (Natural Language Processing) as an NLP Specialist/Conversation Designer Intern at EBO in 2018. Greta performed NLP training on an existing model, designed chatbot conversations, and migrated chatbot systems.

In 2020, Greta worked as a Quality Assurance Linguist at Appen, where they ensured the linguistic quality of projects. Most recently, they joined Go Autonomous as a Data Annotation Team Lead in 2021.

Greta Attard pursued their higher education in the field of Language Technology. From 2017 to 2021, they studied at the University of Gothenburg and obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Human Language Technology at the University of Malta from 2014 to 2017. In 2016, Greta briefly studied the same subject at the University of Groningen.

In addition to their formal education, Greta also obtained additional certifications. In December 2020, they achieved the Grade 8 Musical Theatre certification from Trinity College London. Furthermore, Greta acquired Grade 4 Piano certification from the Royal Academy of Music and Grade 6 Singing certification from Trinity College London, although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are unknown.
