Matt Fitzgerald

Matt Fitzgerald has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over 27 years. Starting in 1994, they worked as a Technical Field Service Engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation (USA) until 1998. From 1998 to 1999, they served as a Systems Administrator/Developer at ITV and then as Post-sales Technical Support at Hamilton Rentals. From 1999 to 2011, Matt worked at HP Software in various roles, including Senior Software Engineer, Program Manager, Technical Instructor, and Presales Technical Consultant.

In 2011, Matt joined the Department of Defence of Australia as a Solution Architect before moving to Amazon Web Services in 2013 as a Solutions Architect. Matt then transitioned to Amazon, where they held positions such as Sr. Technical Program Manager, Manager of Technical Program Management, Software Development Manager, Sr. Manager of Software Development, and Principal Technical Program Manager from 2014 to 2019.

Following their time at Amazon, Matt joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2019 as Principal Technical Evangelist and later became the Head of AWS Developer Relations APJC before becoming the Senior Operations Manager in 2021.

In 2021, Matt also worked as an Advisor at Verifiably before joining Go1 as an Engineering Manager and later as a Senior Engineering Manager. Currently, they hold the role of Director, Engineering (Core Learning Technologies) at Go1 as of August 2023.

Matt Fitzgerald has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Chemistry from Macquarie University, which they completed from 1999 to 2002. Matt also has a degree in Applied Science in Computer Programming from South Metropolitan TAFE, which they obtained from 1991 to 1994. In addition, Matt has pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from La Trobe University, although the specific start and end years are unknown. Matt also holds several certifications in Amazon Web Services, including AWS Certified Developer - Associate Level and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate Level.
