Michael Zhu

Joined Gobi in 2003, Mr. Zhu has a professional experience of more than 16 years in venture capital industry, focusing on domains including deep technology, IoT, Enterprise SAAS, cloud service, innovative financial service, etc.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Automation from Donghua University in Shanghai.

Respectively in 2012, 2015 and 2018, Mr. Zhu, as the leading Partner, established Gobi Ying Zhi RMB Fund, Gobi Zhi Ying RMB Fund and Gobi Qiling RMB Fund, and raised RMB 1.25 billion in total. In 2016, Mr. Zhu took part in the fundraising and led the management of Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund worth HK$ 1 billion.

Mr. Zhu serves on the board of directors in multiple portfolio companies, he leads and contributes to a variety of projects including Airwallex, GoGoVan, WaveOptics, Teambition, Cloudwise, CheZhiBao, PICOOC, StayCloud, etc. He is also the mentor of IBM Smart Camp – a global competition for entrepreneurs. Mr. Zhu was selected by 36Kr as China’s Top 100 Venture Capitalists of 2019 and by Forbes as one of the Top 100 Chinese Venture Capitalists in 2018.
