Director, Customer Experience & Advocacy at GoCardless

Hamish Wood is the Director of Customer Experience & Advocacy at GoCardless. Prior to joining GoCardless, Hamish was with MaritzCX for just over 9 months, where they served as the Client Success Director. In this role, Hamish was responsible for representing the clients back into MaritzCX and ensuring they were receiving the best optimal value from MatrizCX’s products and services. Hamish did this by providing thought leadership to strategically develop accounts, new products, and service offerings for existing clients to identify growth opportunities and appropriate solutions. Additionally, Hamish played an integral role in the indirect leadership of the internal accounting team by setting directions for client accounts and promoting teamwork.

During their time with MaritzCX, some of Hamish’s key achievements include: leading strategic planning of accounts, growing essential relationships, and administering strategies to increase value and ROI for clients; managing clients’ essential business requisites by meeting regularly to identify future needs and ensure oversight of daily operational requirements; designating developmental areas of internal team members and liaison with team leaders to develop up and coming talent; and monitoring project costs, minimising cost overruns, and supporting the development of efficiencies to grow GP of accounts; provided an ongoing forecast of revenue and expenses for each client account.

Hamish Wood has completed an Agile Training course with Spark New Zealand, a Design Thinking course with IDEO U, and a Retail Modern Apprenticeship with the Retail Institute. Hamish has also completed High School with NCEA Level 1, 2, 3, University Entrance with Feilding High School.

Their manager is Pat Phelan, Chief Customer Officer.
