Before joining GoGuardian, Jeanette worked at Montgomery County Public Schools, where they held various positions. As the Legal Director, they supervised and managed assistant general counsels and paralegals and specialized in developing legal structures for innovative partnerships while protecting sensitive student and business information. Jeanette also served as the Assistant to the Associate Superintendent, providing advice on internal policies and regulations, managing large-scale projects, and overseeing Chromebook distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic. As an Assistant General Counsel, they provided legal services on transactional matters involving public procurement, board governance, student data privacy and security, and technology implementation.

Jeanette's early career includes experience as a Senior Staff Attorney at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC, where they managed programs in Voting Rights and Equal Opportunity, and as an Associate Attorney at Linowes and Blocher LLP, specializing in real estate transactions and complex development projects.

Jeanette L. earned a BA degree in Political Science from St. Mary's College of Maryland. Jeanette then went on to obtain a JD degree in Law from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, completing their studies between 2004 and 2007.
