MK Lee has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2008 with a role as Business Production Manager & Designer at The GW Hatchet. In 2009, MK Lee held two positions simultaneously, as a VIP Host at W Hotels and a Special Events Intern at the DC Chamber of Commerce. In 2011, MK Lee became an Event Coordinator at TAO Group. In 2014, MK Lee was a National Special Projects Coordinator - Macy’s Culinary Council & Martha Stewart at Macy's. From 2015 to 2019, MK Lee held two roles at the Fayetteville Pie Company, as Executive Chef / Recipe Developer and Kitchen Manager / Recipe Developer. In 2019, MK Lee became an Operations Manager at The Modern and Cafés at MoMA, and also took on the role of Culinary Research & Development for Union Square Events. In 2020, MK Lee became a Creative & Business Operations and Merchant Operations at Goldbelly, and also took on the role of Creator, Creative Director, Product Developer/Designer at CAKEJWL.

MK Lee received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from The George Washington University School of Business, where they studied Business Administration, Management and Operations. In 2013, they enrolled in the International Culinary Center to pursue Chocolate & Confections. MK also holds certifications in Chocolatier & Confections and ServSafe from ServSafe Certified.
