Gagandeep Singh

Gagandeep Singh has a diverse range of work experience in software development and engineering. Gagandeep started their career as a Software Engineer Intern at Goldcast in April 2020, where they developed the early-stage MVP version of the Goldcast platform and set up the adaptive bitrate video streaming and conversion pipeline.

In 2019, Gagandeep participated in the Google Summer of Code program at LibreOffice, where they worked on creating a Chart Styles API, allowing users to apply custom formatting to charts in different applications.

The following year, Gagandeep interned at FFmpeg through the Google Summer of Code program. Their objective was to finish the reverse-engineered Cineform decoder, enabling FFmpeg to play all Cineform video files.

Returning to Goldcast in December 2020, Gagandeep worked as a Software Engineer Intern and focused on building APIs in Django for integration with AWS MediaLive and MediaConvert. Gagandeep also developed and maintained a live stream recording bot using Puppeteer, FFmpeg, Chromium, and AWS Mediastore to provide live stream output to various platforms. Additionally, they implemented autoscaling logic using lambdas and SQS for efficient resource allocation.

Most recently, Gagandeep served as a Backend SDE at Goldcast, starting in June 2021. In this role, they integrated various technologies such as Appbase Elasticsearch, Deepgram, AWS Translate, and Chat Socket connections to enhance the registrants search, email sending, and accessibility features for event attendees. Gagandeep also wrote services to handle file attachments.

Gagandeep Singh pursued their Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur starting in 2016 and completing in 2021.
