Raymond Santiago has over three decades of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning, currently serving as the Manager of Traffic Engineering and Transit Facilities at the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District since August 2010. Previous roles include Principal Planner/Traffic Engineer and Senior Planner/Traffic Engineer at the same organization. Prior to this, Raymond held the position of Traffic/Transportation Manager at the City of West Sacramento from 2004 to 2010, and served as Transportation Program Manager for the City of Concord between 2002 and 2004. Earlier in their career, positions included Traffic Operations Engineer at the City of San Leandro and Assistant Transportation Engineer at the City of Hayward. The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District) operates the Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Transit and Golden Gate Ferry. It is a special district of the State of California formed in 1928 to build and operate the Golden Gate Bridge. It is a public agency. The District is comprised of San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Napa counties and portions of Del Norte and Mendocino counties. The District expanded its mission in 1970 when it began the operation of Golden Gate Ferry and the operation of Golden Gate Transit regional bus service in 1972
