Erik Jacobsen has a diverse work experience in various industries. Erik started their career as a Multimedia Intern at Microsoft in 1992. Erik then worked as an Operations Manager at Schola Cantorum from 1993 to 1996. Following that, they were a Finance Manager/Inkslinger at Mark Anderson Design/Asterix, the Mark from 1996 to 1999. In 1999, they founded Threestory Studio, where they served as the Founder & Creative Director, specializing in information design, data visualization, and custom illustration. In 2016, they joined Dreyfus Sotheby's International Realty as the Chief Marketing Officer, where they set strategic direction and oversaw all marketing and internal communications. In 2017, they switched to Golden Gate Sotheby's International Realty, first as the VP Marketing, Silicon Valley, responsible for growing the residential real estate business and increasing brand visibility. Erik then got promoted to Senior Vice President, Marketing & Education in 2018.

From 1987 to 1993, Erik Jacobsen attended Williams College where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (Composition).
