Michael Murphy

Michael Murphy has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting. Michael is currently serving as the Head of Finance at Golden Life Management since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at BDO Canada LLP from 2006 to 2021, where they held the position of Partner and also served as a Senior Manager in Assurance and Accounting Services. Michael started their professional career at Safeway Canada in 1998, where they worked in various roles including Cashier, Payroll Clerk, and Retail Control Summer Student until 2005.

Michael Murphy earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Calgary, where they studied from 2000 to 2005. Following their undergraduate studies, they obtained the CPA, CA certification from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) in February 2009. Michael has also completed additional certifications, including "4 Seasons of Reconciliation" from the First Nations University of Canada in October 2021 and "Indigenous Canada" from Coursera in September 2021. Additionally, they completed the CICA In-depth Tax program, although the exact dates and details of this program are not provided.
