Anita Hartmann has extensive experience in research administration and human resources, serving at the University of Alaska Fairbanks since 1989 in various roles, including Affiliate Associate Professor of Research Administration, Investigator, and Associate Director of Human Resources, from which retirement occurred in June 2016. In these positions, Anita managed human resource programs, supervised HR staff, and took on leadership roles in academic administration as Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Acting Director of Human Resources. Anita has also contributed to research administration as Director of the Office for Research Development and participated in significant renovations of a behavioral science laboratory. In addition to academic roles, Anita serves as an At-Large Representative on the Member Advisory Committee for Golden Valley Electric Association since September 2019. Academically, Anita holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and several nursing degrees from institutions including the University at Albany and the Academy of Health Sciences in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
